Party's Breaker - Fighting Screen

Introduction | Startup | Menus | Fighting Screen | Legend | Other | Characters | Credits

The information at the top of the screen, shown below, consists of two main parts:

Top Gauges

  • A = Physical Strength Gauge.

  • B = This blue bar is the GUARD POWER. Every time you block, this bar will decrease; when the bar disappears (i.e., Guard = 0%), the words "Guard Crush" will appear on the screen with some special effects signifying that your guard is broken. As a consequence, you will no longer be able to block and you won't be able to move for a second. It is also possible to "Guard Cancel" by performing an attack while guarding, but, as would be expected, your "Guard" will go to zero, and you will be susceptible to a "Guard Crush". It is better to "Block Push" (press an attack while guarding), which will use up only some of your guard, rather than all.

The information at the bottom of the screen, shown below, consists of two main parts:

Bottom Gauges

  • Technical Arts Energy - The gauge starts out empty (i.e., transparent green) and the counter on the left is set to 0. Every attack that you do against your opponent will build up this gauge (multiple hit combos will cause a faster rate of increase) and the number will increase from 0 up to 9, indicating how many "Full Bars" you have stocked. Each character has special moves called Hissatsu waza (Certain Kill Technique). A more powerful version of this move (referred to as an EX version) can be done using 1 full bar. There is also the Chou hissatsu waza (Super Certain Kill Technique) which typically requires 3 full bars (unless otherwise noted).

  • INITIATIVE - When this indicator says "READY..." it is charging (a faint yellow bar behind "INITIATIVE:READY..." steadily increases in size). After a certain period of time (~30 seconds), it will read "GO", and you can use it to increase the speed of your attack/combo (hit f,f during a combo) or perform a ROMAN CANCEL; it will remain in the "GO" state for ~10 seconds.
